Services

We perform a range of computer services at home or in the office. Standard base rate for all service during beusiness hours (10:00am - 6:00pm Monday to Saturday, 10:00am - 4:00pm Sunday, excl. public holidays) is $60 per hour, with a minimum charge of one hour. We are also available for emergency callouts 24 hours a day if required. Software Installation and Removal

If you have a program you'd like to get on or off your computer, but aren't sure how to do it, we can come around and sort it out for you. Sometimes a particular program can be especially troublesome to get working right or difficult to remove, we can help get it up and running, or make sure that problem app is gone for good.

Hardware Troubleshooting, Installation and Removal

Computers sometimes don't do what they should. Often this is due to a glitch in software, and we can often work around them or fix them altogether. Sometimes though, the problem lies in the hardware, the physical bits and pieces on your desk. We can isolate these problems and find where they're coming from, and replace those components if need be. We can also set up new hardware such as printers and other devices and get them working with your systems.

Operating System Installation, Recovery, Reinstallation

The Operating System is the core software running on your computer, usually this is some version of Microsoft Windows, but it could be Mac OS X (for Apple-branded computers) or possibly some flavour of Linux or even something else entirely. When this core component fails, it usually brings down everything else with it, and you're left unable to use your computer at all. We can get deep into the system to get it back up and running for you, or in cases where the operating system is to far gone to bring back we can wipe the slate clean and reinstall the entire system making it like new again. And for brand new computers like custom built PC's which often don't have an operating system set up, we can set one up for you as well.

Network Installation and Maintenance

In today's day and age, a computer is usually not isolated from all others. Computers and other devices are often linked together in a network to allow for communication and sharing. The Internet is the largest of these networks, however these days most people have a much smaller network in their home, connecting their home PC or laptop to a router allowing file sharing between their computers, as well as providing a gateway to allow those devices to connect to the Internet through a single connection. We can get your devices connected in your home or office, including cabling, setting up routers and switches, and configuring your devices to bring them all together.

Hardware and Software Upgrades

Technology is constantly improving. Software is developed to fix bugs, improve security, and add new useful features. Hardware is built to run faster, cooler, to hold more information or act on that information more efficiently. But sometimes these upgrades can be tricky, for instance upgrading your operating system can be a time consuming task making sure all your applications still function properly after the update, and hardware upgrades can involve dismantling your computer and knowing what goes where and what type of connections are used. We are able to take the worry of upgrading out of your hands and make the process as smooth as possible for you.

Virus and Malware Removal

There will always be unscrupulous people and organisations writing viruses, spyware, trojans and other malicious programs, and it's an unfortunate risk in today's day and age that one or more of these programs can find its way onto your computer. It is true that the risk is higher when browsing less savoury areas of the internet, but the truth is malware can come from anywhere, even legitimate or well-known websites, or emails sent from people you know. Many these days come from small games like poker or slots, or sometimes they come disguised as antivirus software and tell you your computer is full of viruses or erros, and they can fix it "for a small fee". We can tell apart problems caused by malware and problems caused by other things, and can clean your system from viruses, trojans, spyware, adware, toolbars and other malicious programs designed to slow your computer down, bombard you with ads, steal and sell your personal information and generally cause you grief. On top of that, we can immunise your PC to help prevent future infections from occurring, and advise you on good computer hygiene so you can better recognise a potential threat in the future.
